Feature Fireplace Walls

Fireplaces have come a long way over the last few years with many properties incorporating the fireplace into the wider design of the room with integrated TV’s, media, shelving & lighting. This modern approach to the traditional fireplace is an exciting way of giving modern rooms a real feature. Feature fireplace walls work with gas & electric fires as well as inset stoves. We have recently invested in more installations like this here in our West Bridgford showroom.

TV’s & media With TV’s getting bigger & slimmer it gives the opportunity to incorporate them into the fireplaces design. The most common way to do this is to form a recess above the fireplace or fire, although they can look equally good offset with a two-sided fire & storage. Media such as Sky & Virgin boxes can be built into the design to give a modern sleek finish.

Log stores A log store incorporated into the design gives a fantastic feature & is an excellent way to store your wood. These can be set below the fire or as a striking vertical feature. Some log stores are sometimes included in designs for gas & electric fireplaces with ‘designer’ logs used for effect only.

Split slate cladding We offer a range of split slate cladding to create a real feature of the fireplace. Slate cladding brings interest & texture to a modern fireplace. Slate cladding is a practical choice for a working gas fire or inset wood fire which if fitted straight into a plastered wall can cause the plaster to crack with the heat generated.
